The Wizzbangers in Their Natural Habitat

Q- What's the story behind the name?
Sean- "Actually we were at a concert at Lyon, and we went upstairs — to the second story women's bathroom?"
Spencer - "Yeah. Women's bathroom."
Sean - "So we were in the second story women's bathroom, and... all the lights were on... and, that's where we thought of the name. We thought it was a word in that Dr. Seuss book, All The Places You'll Go. But we found out later that it's not. It's a brand of wine."
Q- Who were the starting members?
Sean- "Me and Spencer, Peter, and, uh.. Thomas Walton."
Q- How long has the band been together?
Sean- "Oh, me and Spencer have been together for a long time. Long enough for it to be a marriage. Then Peter came in in sixth grade."
Q- How do you gear up for a concert?
Peter- "We just fiddle around until people look bored."
Q- No, really, how?
Spencer- "Should we give it away?"
Sean- "We do nothing."
Q- Where have you performed?
Sean - "Cotton Festival in Fordyce, Josie's, The Cinnamon Stick, Lyon College, The Lander's Theater, and at the White River. And every time we've performed at the river, it's been terrible."
Q- What distracts you when you’re performing?
Spencer- "Tuning guitars."
Q- What's your favourite thing to see in the audience when you're performing?
Peter- "My favourite thing to see in the audience is people."
Q- Who does the lyric composition?
Peter - "Sean. Don't give us [Spencer and I] any credit. We leech off of Sean's talent. We should be wearing shirts that say 'jealous.’"
Q- Who are your musical influences?
Spencer- "Rush."
Sean- "Radiohead."
Q- How would you describe the band to someone who’s never heard any of your songs?
Sean- "Sounds like your favourite band."
Q- What's going to happen after graduation?
[collective "aww"]
Q- Are any of you going to pursue a musical career?
Peter- "[points at/pokes Sean] You see who I'm pointing to! This guy! Him!"
Sean- "Ask us what our favourite Pokemon is."
Q- What's your favourite Pokemon?
Sean- "Diglet. Cos he's so underground."
Spencer- "Like us."
As the only semi-distinguished band still currently associated with BHS, The Wizzbangers are undoubtedly a trio of top contributers to the student-body talent pool.
The most recent Wizzbangers concert was held at the Pocket Park on Main Street on September 24 and also featured Sam Lung, a current BHS student.
We would like to thank the band-members Sean Roulier, Spencer Barnes, and Peter Wood for their time and co-operation, and also wish Sean luck in his future musical career.
