Spring musical time here at Batesville High School! Ms. Amanda Pickett has chosen Camelot to be this year’s musical. This will be Ms. Pickett’s first major spring musical here at Batesville High School. After the success of Murdered to Death in the fall, hopes are high for the success of this performance.
"I have loved the Arthurian legends since I read The Once and Future King in 10th grade. I wanted to be in Camelot but only in the role of Lancelot," stated Ms. Pickett for one of the reasons she chose this particular show. Having the thought that no one would ever cast her for that role, she thought she would just direct the show instead.
"I also felt our theatre department would do a wonderful job, and so far, I have been proven right," added Ms. Pickett. The cast of the show is extremely talented and is up to the task of completing this show with success, if the weather should permit.
If they auditioned, any member of the student body was eligible to be casted for this show. The leads are Arthur: Crist Blackwell; Guenevere: Jennifer Baker, Understudy-Natasha Bray;
Lancelot: Ty Swaim, Understudy-Nathan Dowen; Merlyn: Nick Nail; Mordred: Zach Rumans, Understudy-Nick Nail; Morgan le Fey: Sadie Duke, Understudy-Rachel Teague; Nimue: Hannah Cummins,Understudy-Molly Luster. The Dance Caption is Hannah Stroud, Ms. Ceil Smith is the musical director and accompanist, and Mrs. Shani Kramer is the Choreographer.
The shows open Friday, April 8th at 7:00pm and at same time on the 9th. The show also shows Sunday, April 10th at 2pm for a matinee show.
